Civil Litigation

Attorney Phillips began her legal career as a construction paralegal at a large firm in 2004 before specializing in litigation and dispute resolution during law school. Over the past two decades, she has handled a full spectrum of civil litigation—including construction, commercial, business, real estate, insurance defense, personal injury, and estate dispute cases.

A core principle of Attorney Phillips’ practice is dispute resolution. Without proactive management, litigation can rapidly become costly, stressful, and disruptive for individuals and businesses alike. Strongly advocating for mediation and arbitration to settle disputes efficiently, she has taught law school courses on alternative dispute resolution since 2013.

We represent clients across Wisconsin’s trial, appellate, and federal courts. Core areas of focus include:

  • Business Litigation: Shareholder disputes, non-compete agreements, and breach of contract claims.
  • Real Estate Disputes: Property ownership disagreements, boundary issues, and partition actions.
  • Watts Cases: Property division claims arising from long-term unmarried relationships.
  • Probate & Estate Litigation: Contested estates, trust disputes, and family asset litigation.
  • Personal Injury Defense: Representation when an insurance company does not offer defense coverage.
  • Local Counsel Support: Wisconsin court assistance for out-of-state attorneys and non-resident litigants.

Please note: The firm does not handle bankruptcy, landlord-tenant, workers' compensation, product liability, or plaintiff-side employment cases.
